Excerpt From Chapter Eight:
Our true stories are not what people see. They are the journeys of our inner hearts. In their book The Sacred Romance, the late Brent Curtis and John Eldredge wrote, “Jesus himself knew that if people lived only in the outer story, eventually they would lose track of their inner life, the life of their heart he so much desired to redeem.” Thus, ordering our lives begins with our hearts.
Remembering our universal and personal history helps us prepare an ordered life. It’s also a good idea to examine our personal evolution as children of God, our personality traits, and particular temperament. Since God knows everything about us, it helps if we agree with his assessments. Looking at our life as a calling from God gives it cosmic importance.
I invite you to journey with me, as we discover together
how to live beautifully in a broken world.
